Welcome to tech week!!! We have worked so hard in rehearsals these past 6 weeks, and we are so excited to start putting all of the tech components together!
***We are still looking for more moms and dads help wrangle kids backstage - for opening night, we still need 3 more moms or dads. If you are available, please email patkopicki@gmail.com

Costumes
All costume pieces are due on Monday.
Hair and Makeup - Everyone needs to bring in a pack of makeup remover wipes
Please have hair and makeup done as much as possible before you arrive. You may touch-up everything once you get here, but it should be mostly done. You may NOT touch-up hair and makeup after you have a microphone on.

There seemed to be some confusion with the rehearsal schedule this week, so hopefully this clarifies everything : ) Also, for all munchkins, there is a note from the costume designer under Wednesday. Please see below.

7-10 pm: All principles, adult chorus members, and munchkins with a speaking or singing line are called (The only people not called are any munchkins without a line.)
***The costume designer would like all the munchkins to stop by this rehearsal at the beginning to try on costumes. Everyone is needed except the Lullaby League, Mayor, Coroner, Carter O, and Ben G. After you try on your costume, you are free to leave if you are not called on the rehearsal schedule. Thanks!***

Off-Book Dates
Hello Ozians!
Below you will find the dates for being off-book. This means that all lines, blocking, and songs must be memorized by these dates. After these dates, you will not be allowed to use your script or music onstage. For the principal roles, after these dates, I will be writing and giving you line notes if your lines are not accurate. Parent Help Backstage
Hello Ozians!
For all rehearsals during tech week and also all performances, we are in need of parent volunteers backstage to help out as "kid wranglers." Kid wranglers help out with the kids backstage in many ways, and you do NOT need to be there every single performance. If this is something you are interested in, please email Pat Kopicki at patkopicki@gmail.com
Thank you so much in advance, we couldn't do it without all of your help!

Costume Notes
Hello cast!
Here is a list of costume requirements for the show. If you have questions or there is something I have overlooked, please feel free to contact me either at rehearsal or by email at meoechsel@aol.com. Please make sure to scroll all the way to the end to read some announcements for the whole cast.
After you have acquired these costume pieces, please clearly label them and hang on to them until tech week. If you have any questions, please feel free to bring in a piece for me to look at. Thanks!
MUNCHKINS
Coroner: black shoes
Lullabye League: pink ballet shoes with white anklets and any color spanx
Lollipop Guild: High top converse for me to decorate. Please bring in next week. I will provide socks.
Madeline school girls(not assigned yet): black mary janes with white anklets
Females: colorful gym shoes. White canvas keds at Payless and Walmart can be decorated with markers. Ashley has a sample. Colorful socks or tights.
Males: converse type gym shoes(high or low top), preferably colorful. If not, colorful laces. Can be found at Payless and Walmart. Colorful socks. If you want to do green laces, you can wear your shoes in Emerald City too.
Munchkin colors are pink, blue & purple. Orange and green are okay too. Please no red.
ALL CHORUS (ADULTS AND CHILDREN)
One completely black outfit to wear as a base for the Poppies, Trees, Jitterbugs, Monkeys and Winkies. This includes: a black long sleeve shirt (preferably turtleneck), black pants, black socks and black shoes. The Winkies will also need a black belt. The Jitterbugs will be dancing in theirs, so they will need jazz pants and jazz shoes.
EMERALD CITY/EVERYONE
Footwear is more flexible for this scene. Ideally the shoes should be green or gold, but I think black or tan characters are okay. The important thing is to wear shoes that are appropriate for your character. Green tights, socks, hats, gloves, etc. are great!! I love anklets with high heels. I can add bows for you too.
OZ Guard: green shoes - I will provide - jazz shoes underneath
Golf ladies: dark, flat ties shoes-I will provide flaps for the top
Salsa dancers: black leotards and tights
Movie star: dark high heels - if you have an old pair that you are willing to have glittered green, let's do it!
Beauticians: I'm treating each group of 3 for each character as a unit. If you'd like to coordinate tights, shoes, etc. that would be great. Some groups will already have headpieces.
Males: dark shoes
Females: any fun high heels. We can decorate! If you are not sure check with me.
Children: green, gold, black or tan shoes. Could also decorate keds in green and gold.
DOROTHY
black non-shiny mary janes for opening with white anklets. I will provide ruby slippers.
GLINDA
I don't think your feet will show, but you could wear tan characters.

All I ask is that you please get it ok'd by me first. =) Munchkins can wear colorful bows or flowers and Emerald Citizens should be very high couture much like the Capital city of Panem (Hunger Games) - green or gold only.
I may ask you about additional items as necessary. For example, a munchkin may need a colorful camisole under their dress. It would be something you already have in your wardrobe at home.
I have started to fit some of the costumes at rehearsal. Unfortunately, I cannot do everyone at once. Please be assured that by opening night everyone will have what they need, but it will definitely be a gradual process over the next month. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Welcome to Week 4 of Rehearsals! Below you will find an updated schedule for Week 4. Please carefully review the below schedule for week 4 because it has been updated since last week. The new changes effect Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, so please let me know as soon as possible if you are unable to make it to rehearsal. We are so sorry for the last minute changes, but we appreciate your flexibility and understanding!
Also, if you are over the age of 18 and cast in Wizard of Oz, you will be required to complete a background check. Since I am not sure of everyone's individual ages, please email me back if you are 18 years or older and cast in the show. I will then forward this list of people to Sandy Nusko, who will be conducting the background checks. The background check consists of a short questionnaire through email. We thank you for helping to keep our kids safe!
